2010 GUIDELINES FOR GRANT SEEKERS*
Geography
The geographical focus of the charitable giving is limited to the Northland of Kansas City. Specifically, organizations must clearly demonstrate programmatic focus in Clay and/or Platte counties. Any application that supports program delivery outside of Clay or Platte County will not be considered.
Primary Area of Interest
Mr. and Mrs. Linscomb were dedicated to helping those who, through no fault of their own, could not help themselves. Programs impacting the lives of children (defined as ages birth to 13) will be given preference in consideration. Areas of focus are limited to: direct intervention and services to poor and needy children; disabled and/or blind children; and support of education to disadvantaged children.
Funding Restrictions
In general, the Linscomb Foundation will NOT award grants to the following:
- Programs that support mental health;
- Debt reduction;
- Capital expenditures;
- Endowment campaigns;
- Scholarships or grants to individuals; and
- Annual appeals or fund raising drives, events, membership contributions and conference expenses.
- The Linscomb Foundation will not be the sole funder of any program or project.
- Applicants may apply only one time per year.
Grant Range
The grants generally range in size from $5,000 to $50,000. Multi-year grants will be considered in some cases.
Application Deadline
Tuesday, June 15, 2010, 5:00 p.m. The members of the Board of Directors review the proposals and make all funding decisions. Notification of decisions will be mailed approximately ten weeks following the deadline.

Procedures for Grant Seekers
- Review your organization's nonprofit profile to ensure that all information is current. For questions about updating your profile or having REVIEWED status, please contact the Donor Relations and Education Team at 816-842-0388 or webmaster@gkccf.org.
- All proposals must be submitted online by 5:00 p.m. CST on the due date through the internet grant application module (iGAM).
- The iGAM grant application will be made available 6 to 8 weeks prior to the deadline.
iGAM Instructions
- iGAM does NOT work in conjunction with nonprofit search.
- When the iGAM grant application is made available (4 to 8 weeks prior to the deadline) the link will be posted here.
- When the iGAM grant application is made available you will be prompted to create a username and password, unless previously done so.
- Users are encouraged to create a single username and password for your organization to be shared among staff.
- Save the iGAM homepage to your web browser favorites to access draft and submitted applications: www.grantrequest.com/SID_1164?SA=AM. This address is new, as of February 15, 2010.
- A compatible web browser must be used, either Internet Explorer version 6 or higher or Fire Fox version 1.5 or higher and have cookies enabled.
- Once logged in, users can view pending and historical applications, but not applications saved under other usernames.
