Forever Friends Diana Lain Hughes Scholarship Fund
Description
The primary purpose of the Forever Friend Diana Lain Hughes Fund is to provide annual scholarships to one or more graduating high school seniors in the Shawnee Mission School District who demonstrate an interest in a career in either teaching, nursing, nursing assistant or allied health care.
Eligibility
The students eligible for assistance shall be graduating high school seniors in the Shawnee Mission School District who (a) are interested in a career in either teaching, nursing, nursing assistant or allied health care; (b) have taken courses in the humanities and/or sciences; (c) have participated in school and/or community service organizations; and (d) have been admitted to a public or private college, university or technical school. Consideration will also be given to the student’s high school grade point average and high school attendance record. Students shall submit a scholarship application on a form provided by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.
Amount
Total of $2,000.00, ($1,000.00 at time of High School Graduation, and $1,000.00 during last year of coursework in teaching or healthcare.) Scholarship is not renewable.
