The Labconco-Callaway Scholarship is offered for the benefit of Labconco employees to assist in expanding educational opportunities at the college level. It was created in recognition of the longstanding leadership of the Callaway family within Labconco Corporation, beginning with Ralph Callaway in 1925 and Redman Callaway in 1939. Their philosophies and leadership help create a unique atmosphere at Labconco, and it is the objective of this scholarship to provide Labconco families with the opportunity for educational growth in keeping with these philosophies.
Eligibility:
1. Labconco associate and be claimed on the associate’s most recent Federal Income Tax Return.
2. The associate parent must be a regular parttime or full-time associate and have at leastone year of seniority with the company. Should an associate who meets these service requirements be on a temporary layoff, their children would still qualify.
3. The student must be a high school senior and have a minimum 2.0 GPA based on a scale of 4.0 through the first seven semesters of high school. A copy of the high school transcript must be provided to be considered.
4. The student must commit to attend a fully accredited college or university on a full-timebasis (a minimum of 12 semester hours.) A minimum 2.0 GPA with at least 12 completed credit hours must be maintained the first semester to qualify for the second semester award. Should the student fail to meet these requirements after the first semester, he or she will be disqualified for any further scholarship assistance under this program.
5. This scholarship will be awarded using the following criteria: Financial need, academic achievement, prior work or volunteer experience, personal references, essay and communityand school activities.
