Robert McRae CNA Advancement Scholarship Fund

This fund was established to provide academic scholarships to CNAs who are enrolled in a nursing school and frontline staff members of a senior care facility who wish to become CNAs. It was created in honor of the CNAs who had a positive impact on Robert McRae’s final days. Their care and attention to both his physical and mental well being provided members of his family with the comfort of knowing his care was their top priority. It is designed to help employed CNAs pursuing training as a nurse, and employed frontline staff members become a CNA.

Eligibility: 
·         A CNA who is enrolled at least part-time in a nursing school, or a frontline employee enrolled in a CNA program
·         They must be currently employed as a CNA or frontline staff member at a senior care facility south of 151st Street in Johnson County, Kansas or any in Miami County, Kansas.
·         Student must continue to attend classes and keep a 2.0 grade point average (or equivalent).
·         Submit a scholarship application online.
·         Participate in an interview with the scholarship’s advisory committee.
·         Must provide one letter of reference from a member of the community who is not a family member.
·         Must provide one letter of reference from a supervisor or co-worker.
Amount: 
$500 for a nursing school scholarship, $300 for CNA training
